This thesis studies and investigates a manuscript entitled "Exposition to Explaining the Abrogative and Abrogated from the Holy Quran" Written by Ibn Al- Khayyat Al-Qaradaghi. Undoubtedly, the studying and investigating the legacy of scientists, especially Kurdish ones, have a special importance. This thesis displays this importance by reviving a work of one of the Kurdish scientists. This work was found in Libraries far away from the hands of Kurds and their liberated region. By this effort, the work came out from the darkness of ruin to the light of publication, study and investigation. The subject of the book has its significance because it deals with a subject of "the Quranic sciences" which is called the science of the Abrogative and Abrogated. The thesis is made up of an introduction, two sections and an appendix. The first section is concerned with studying and made up of a preliminary and two chapters. The preliminary contains a short account of the scientific condition at the time of Ibn Al-Khayyat in Qaradagh, Suleimania and Baghdad areas. The first chapter is about the life of Ibn Al-Khayyat and his works. This chapter is of two themes. The first theme is about the life of Ibn Al- Khayyat, including his name, surname, title and scientific family. Then there come his birth, his scientific upbringing and status, in addition to the introduction of his master, some of his students, and his death. The second chapter is concerned with abrogation in the Holy Quran and studying the book "Exposition" This chapter is of two themes. The first theme deals with abrogation in the Holy Quran and explains the importance of this science and the wisdom from abrogation, its conditions and perception among the worthy ancestors and the later scientists, its methods, the opinions of scientists about it and the most important objections and the refutation. The second theme is aboutstudying the book "Exposition", searching for its title and attribution, the purpose of the author from writing it, its sources, the position of the book in Quranic studies, and the method that the author used in writing it and the personality of the author in it, and the drawbacks about the book. The second section is concerned with investigating the book " Exposition" first by explaining the method of studying and investigation, describing the copies of the manuscript depended upon in the investigation. The first and the last pages of the two manuscripts are photographed. Then there comes the conclusion which includes the most significant results of the research and the facts that the researcher has found in the studying and investigation.
